The cause of Johnson’s death has not been announced as of Wednesday evening.
A California native, Johnson made a name for himself at the University of Colorado where he played for four years.

Over the course of his nine-year NFL career, Johnson caught for 4,606 receiving yards and scored 24 touchdowns. He spent five years in Pittsburgh, before moving to the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999 for two seasons.
The final two years of his career were spent at the Patriots and the Buffalo Bills.
